Harry Lincoln HARKNESS Harry Lincoln Harkness, beloved father, grandfather and friend, died in Seattle on Aug. 28, 2010. He was born in Bremerton, June 8, 1925 to Ryle and Violet Harkness, graduated from Bremerton High School, saw combat as a B-17 ball turret gunner during World War II, earned a BA degree from the U. of W. following the war, and with his wife, Doris, raised a family in the Haller Lake neighborhood of Seattle, where he served a term as president of the Haller Lake Community Club and was an active member of the American Theater Organ Society. During his years at Boeing he worked on development and rollout of the 747 jumbo jet. He later moved to San Francisco, where for many years he was organist at the Metropolitan Community Church and a much-loved member of his community. He was a proud father and grandfather. He is survived by his children, Ed (Linda), Randy, and Cindy Howard (Jim); his grandchildren Devin, Ned, Reed, Jared, Sam, Maddie, George and Rose; his former wife, Doris; and Peter, Beau and Elias. A life celebration of Harry Harkness will be held at the Haller Lake Community Club, 12579 Densmore N., Seattle, on Sept. 26, 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the charity of your choice.
