Obituary Condolences

Hazel E. MORSE Hazel E. Morse died February 12, 2012 at Burcham Hills Retirement Community in East Lansing, Michigan. Born Hazel Rasmussen in 1918 to Danish-American parents who homesteaded in Dagmar, Montana, she and James Finley Morse met at Billings Polytechnic. They married in 1942 and after World War II made their home in Seattle, Washington. They also lived several years in Pennsylvania, New York and Kodiak, Alaska and traveled widely for business and pleasure. They returned to Seattle and spent several years in retirement at Exeter House. Hazel maintained close ties with her Danish relatives. She was a loyal friend and great correspondent, very active in her community, and known for her hospitality, good cooking, and artistic talent. She loved gardening, fly fishing, and a good game of bridge. Preceding her in death were her beloved husband James F. Morse, her brother Walter Rasmussen, and her son Douglas Morse. She is survived by her children Joanne Morse of New York, New York, Steven Morse (Ginny) of Elverson, Pennsylvania, Susan Morse (Douglas) of Portland, Oregon, Sylvia Morse (Scott Swinton) of East Lansing, Michigan, and four grandchildren: Benjamin Morse, Laurel Morse Wood, Amelia and Peter Swinton.
