Helen "Lois" Irby, born July 17, 1918 in Tacoma, WA, died peacefully of natural causes on August 20, 2018 in Lynnwood, WA. She was predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Raymond H. Irby. She is survived by their children (and spouses) David (Janet), Jeanne (Diane), Janice (Roger); grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great, great grandchildren.

Lois graduated with a B.S. and B. of Ed. from WSU then taught in Chelan, WA. She was a devoted wife and mother. After successfully raising their 3 children in Seattle, Lois earned her MSW from UofW and worked for 10 years as a probation officer at King County Juvenile Court. Lois and Ray loved traveling and made friends around the world.

Lois was a dedicated ordained minister in the Community of Christ, pioneering youth caravan programs, providing marriage counseling and spiritual guidance. She was known for her inclusive love, gentle spirit, abiding faith and inquisitiveness.

A memorial service will be held

at Community of Christ, 20012
