Jack Oliver NELSEN Jack died May 15th, 2011 at home in West Seattle at the age of 85. Beloved husband for 51 years of Fredricka A. Nelsen, who preceded him in death in 1995. Devoted father to Sue, Paula, and Philip Nelsen, and Jan Nelsen Arana (Jaime). Loving 'grandpa'to Olivia Mullen (Daniel), Rita Chavez (Francisco), Tomas and Mateo Arana. Great-grandfather to Fiona and Nora Mullen, EvaMaria and Lucia Chavez. Jack was born November 3, 1925 to June and Evan Nelsen and was a proud descendant of the Danish farming family headed by Doraand Fred Nelsen. Jack enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1934 and graduated from University of Washington after serving his country. After a distinguished 42 year career with the Boeing Company, Jack retired in 1990 to spend time with his family and pay frequent visits to Guemes Island. The family held a graveside service on May 27 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Renton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Guemes Island Fire Dept., 6310 Guemes Island Road, Anacortes, WA 98221.
