James (Jim) Hoefer|
James (Jim) Hoefer of Bellevue, WA died on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 of cancer. He was 75 years old.
Jim was born on December 26, 1937, in Winona, Minnesota. He served on an aircraft carrier in the United States Navy where he became a flight instructor. After his honorable discharge he attended the University of Oregon where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Interior Architecture. Jim owned his own interior design business in Portland, Oregon. He then later accepted a job as Design Director with Bank and Office Interiors and moved his family to Bellevue in the summer of 1978. He later started a consulting business in Seattle. Jim was a valued member and chapter chair of the American Society of Interior Designers in 1986 and served as a national board member in 1988-89. He finished his career with the Boeing Company working first in a security clearance position at Boeing Field in Seattle before moving to the Everett facility working in space and landscape planning. Jim loved sailing and spending time with family and grandchildren. He expanded his knowledge of life through travel and reading.
Jim will be sadly missed and leaves behind a wonderful family including his wife of 51 years, Mary, brother Andrew (Sandy), sons and spouses Kirk (Vickie), Mark (Lisa) and daughter Elizabeth Jorgenson (Paul), grandchildren - David, Ben, Terry, Nick, Rikki, Makena, Lily and nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Monday, June 24, 2013, at St. Louise Parish in Bellevue at 3:00 PM. A graveside memorial will be in Eugene, Oregon, on July 1st, 2013.
