James (Jim) P. Launer|
Jim Launer passed away peacefully at home on December 1, 2012, after a long illness. Jim was born in Bremerton on October 5, 1940 to Evan and Evelyn Launer. Following graduation from Mt. Si High School in 1958, he spent many enjoyable years working at the Snoqualmie Summit ski area. The last 20 years of employment were spent with M.A. Segale of Tukwila. In between these jobs, Jim spent 2 years as a soldier in the U.S. Army. In addition to alpine skiing, Jim was very passionate about ballroom dancing, senior softball, raising dahlias, and most important of all - his three granddaughters.
Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mollie Vinikow Launer, his son Leslie, his sisters Lorraine Mitchell and Christine (Bob) Bryant, and his granddaughters Ida, Erika, and Charlotte. A memorial service and reception in his honor will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2012, 1:30 p.m., at Temple B'nai Torah, 15727 NE 4th Street, Bellevue. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Temple B'nai Torah or Evergreen Hospice, Kirkland.
