Jane Deymonaz Obituary

Jane DEYMONAZ Jane Deymonaz, born August 27, 1924 in San Diego, CA, passed peacefully on Tuesday, May 10th, 2011 in Seattle, WA. She lived in Buffalo, New York as a child, moving to Yakima, WA at the age of 10. Jane attended Yakima High School and St. Joseph's Academy, graduating in 1943. She continued her education at Seattle University, graduating in 1948 with a BA in Sociology. Returning to Yakima, she worked one year for the Regional Library System in the bookmobile section, traveling through the Yakima Valley. Jane spent time at Hanford, as a file clerk for Atkins Jones Construction. September 17, 1949, she married Walter J. Deymonaz in Yakima. The couple moved to Minneapolis where Walt obtained post graduate degrees. Returning to Seattle in 1950, Walt worked for Boeing's Test Program and Jane focused on raising six children. Jane returned to the work force for 10 years, managing the Highline Nutrition Site for Seniors before officially retiring. Walt and Jane were active Catholics in several south Seattle parishes including St. Francis of Assisi, St. Philomena's, and St. Vincent de Paul. Walter passed December 4, 2008 and Jane resided happily at Providence Mount St. Vincent in West Seattle. Jane is survived by her six children, 10 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Jane's funeral Mass and Celebration of her Life will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Burien on Saturday, May 21st at 1:00 p.m. Donations in Jane's memory should go to World Vision Clean Water Program. Jane Deymonaz was a lovely and kind woman whose beauty will live on in her wonderful children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Some of my fondest childhood memories involve time spent with the Deymonaz family.
