Jean A. Droppelman

Jean A. DROPPELMAN Aug. 11, 1921 ~April 14, 2011 Greeting the Lord as she did everyone she met, with a smile and a kind comment, Jean transitioned to the next life on April 14. Her gracious ways will be missed by family and friends. After growing up in Ballard, she spent most of her life in West Seattle. Preceded in death by her husband, Bill, sister Mary and brother Bill Angus. Jean leaves behind an extended family including her sister Frances Droppelman, sons Bill (Marsha), Bruce (Beverly), three grandchildren: Julie (Eric), Tod (Mary), Steven (Monica) and six great grandchildren. After raising her family, she returned to work at Boeing, retiring in 1983. Ever curious and loving to learn, she became a Master Gardener and was a member of the West Seattle Garden Club. She also belonged to a local osteoporosis association, the West Seattle Senior Center and Friends of the Yellowstone Trail (Snoqualmie Pass). Special thanks to Swedish Hospice Care for their guidance and support through mom's battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Swedish Hospice or to the Booth Gardner Parkinson Research Center. At her request, there will be a 'Celebration of Life' on May 15, 2:00PM at the Hall at Fauntleroy, 9131 California Ave SW.
