Joanne Frances PETERSON Raised in Ballard by her parents Betty and Herbert Dennison, Joanne passed away on April 30th. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35yrs Bill, and her brother Robert. She is survived by her daughter Mandy and son Kevin, siblings Judy, Barb and Rick, in-laws Bill, Cindy and Mike, grandchildren Carter and Brady, a niece, eight nephews, and countless close friends she made throughout her life. Joanne was a graduate of Ballard high school in 1963, and within a few years married Bill, and there began one of the most treasured marriages one could ever ask for. Joanne was masterful in the kitchen. Regardless of what she had to work with, one was left feeling they had eaten at a 5 star restaurant with the hospitality to match. Her love of cooking led her to partake in Tom Douglas's summer camps, something she looked forward to year after year. There was little Joanne didn't love, starting with family and friends, long weekends at Whistler, camping trips, gardening, conversation, a good laugh, or maybe her simple pleasure of a good hamburger, fries and an ice cold beer. We will miss our mother, sister, G-Jo, aunt and good friend Joanne. Anyone that ever met her is better off for having done so. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to: , PNW Chapter, 115 NE 100th Street #350, Seattle WA 98125.
