Joanne Louise Paulon Souter

Joanne Louise Paulon SOUTER Age 65, from Lake Tapps, WA passed away on September 5, 2009, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was raised in Renton, attended Renton schools, and graduated from WSU where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Her career began teaching second grade in the Highline School District, however her desire to travel led her to become a flight attendant for United Airlines in 1969. It was there that she met her husband Charles, a pilot with United. She and Charles lived in Manassas, VA and returned to the Northwest to live in Woodinville, and then on Lake Tapps. Joanne truly enjoyed her dogs and cats, traveling with different R.V clubs, driving her 1956 Thunderbird, and spending time outside in her garden. She loved to shop, especially in Hong Kong, and was always on the lookout for a bargain. Her knack for finding the perfect gift for her friends and family was renowned and even included thoughtful gifts for their pets. She took great pleasure in the friendships she made in her career and on her travels. Joanne was passionate about keeping in touch with her numerous friends including those from grade school, high school, and her college sorority sisters. She was a lifelong friend to many, and will be greatly missed for her caring ways and sense of humor. Joanne was active in the United Pilot's Wives Club, Great American RV Club, Monaco NW RV, Family Motor Coach Assoc., Amateur Radio Club of Tacoma, and Olympic Classic Thunderbird Club. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents Ermenia and Julian Paulon. She is survived by her husband Charles, brother David and his wife Meg, a niece, two nephews, two great nieces and a great nephew. Memorial services will be held at Edline-Yahn & Covington Funeral Chapel October 10, 2009 at 1:00 pm. Please bring photos and stories to share about Joanne. No flowers please.
