John Sumida Obituary

John Iwao SUMIDA John Iwao Sumida, 44, passed away, September 21, 2011, from complications from a stroke. Born May 24, 1967, he was a lifelong Seattle resident, devoted Seattle Thunderbirds hockey fan, avid follower of local baseball and hydroplane racing and a dedicat ed volunteer for the Variety Club charities for many years. John was preceded in death by his father, H.R. 'Rocky' Sumida. He is survived by his mother, Florence, his sisters Midori and Leslie, his niece, Marisa and his many relatives and friends on both sides of the U.S./Canadian border. A memorial service was held. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to LifeCenter Northwest Organ Donation Net work. Thank you to the caring staff at Harborview Hospital and the many people who loved him. John, my dear friend, I will miss you....
your smile and humor, your friendship, the many good times we shared.
John, thank you for inviting me to meet your hockey family in Seattle.

John, all the games, the food, the drinks. The hockey chats, agreements and disagreements, all the good times.

John you are very special and I'm blessed to have met you and been friends.

I'm gonna miss you so much....thanks for all, John.

I could not believe my eyes when I saw that John had passed. He was one of my favorite neighborhood kids. I truly enjoyed all his visits and conversations. We shared a mutual hobby interest of collecting "stuff". Our sincere condolences to the Sumida family.
