John James O'BRIEN John was born in Seattle, WA to Michael O'Brien of County Clare and Mary (Gilmore) O'Brien of County Mayo. He was a cherished Dad, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend. His sense of humor will be missed by many. John graduated from O'Dea high school in 1952 and went on to attend Seattle University and join the Army. Working for Standard Oil he moved his family from Anchorage to Reno and then back to Bellingham where he tried his hand as owner of the Times Bike Shop. Going back to the oil industry found him working on tankers that took him around the world. He ended up back in Bellingham working for the Humane Society and Visiting Angles, and then spent the last few years retired enjoying his friends at the American Legion and playing golf at the Sandy Point Golf Course. He was happy being in Whatcom County and spending time with family and friends. John is survived by sisters Peggy and Joan, daughters Kathy Csolti, Kerry O'Brien-Campau, Kelly Miller, grandsons Zach and Zerek Csolti, and granddaughter Madeline Miller.
