Joselyn DRUSCHEL Obituary

Joselyn Druschel, 80, passed away at the Evergreen Hospice Center in Kirkland, Washington, Saturday, October 19, 2013, after a lengthy illness.

Joselyn was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania and was preceded in death by her parents, William and Matilda Druschel; Robert Heath, half-brother; Ella Mae Forrest, half-sister; William Druschel, brother; and Evelyn Marburger, sister. She is survived by Patricia George, sister; Toni Herndon, half-sister; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews; and her many friends.

In the early 1950s, Joselyn served in the U.S. Army. On her discharge, she attended, and graduated from, Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA. After teaching for several years, she attended Case Western University, graduating with a Masters of Library Science.

Joselyn, who retired from the Washington State University Libraries in 1988 as Assistant Director for Automation and Technical Support, was an avid life-long learner. She especially enjoyed literature, philosophy, and the arts. She also supported numerous organizations devoted to social justice, human rights, animal rights, and environmental protection.

Her friends and family will miss her greatly. As one close friend says, "The world isn't the same place without Joselyn in it".
