Joseph Lawrence Corvi Obituary
Joseph Lawrence Corvi

Seattle - Joseph Lawrence Corvi, age 89, of Kirkland, WA, died Tuesday, April 23rd at Virginia Mason Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Kate) Corvi of Kirkland; his daughters, Carolyn Corvi (John Bates) of Seattle and Laura Corvi (Robert J. Davis) of Seattle; his brother, Art Corvi of Lake Tapps, WA, and his sister Catherine Corvi Richards of Auburn, WA.

Joe was born May 9, 1923, in Seattle, the eldest son of Dominick and Rose Corvi. He attended Cleveland High School and the University of Washington, graduating with a degree in Business and Economics. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, as a Master Sergeant in the Transportation Corps - serving in New Guinea in the South Pacific. In 1947, he married Kathleen Kendall of Evanston, Wyoming - the couple establishing their home in Seattle. In December, 1951, he went to work for The Boeing Company, rising through the ranks to become Director of Procurement for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Upon his retirement in 1985, friends and colleagues from all over the world flew in for the celebration.

Joe continued working as a consultant in aerospace for the next decade. He was an active member of the Sons of Italy and never ceased pursuing his two great passions - his lifelong interest in railroads, airplanes and the romance of American transportation... and most of all, his family.

There will be a celebration in remembrance of his life at the Museum of Flight, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6th. Memorial contributions may be made to the Museum of Flight in his name.
