Julie May Kehle

Julie Kehle (nee King) was born on August 30, 1930 and passed away on June 5, 2018. She was a beloved mother to Janet Zins (husband Dwight), Steve Kehle (wife Sally) Deborah Weaver and Alan Kehle. Julie was a wonderful grandmother to Trevor Weaver (wife Jennifer), Tyler Weaver (wife Michelle), Jacob Kehle (wife Katy), Jordyn Hettick (husband Kevin), and Drew Zins. Julie was a great-grandmother to Connor, Ella and Aria. She is survived by two sisters, Grace King who resides in Everett, and Sarajane Rants, who resides in Port Orchard. She had six nieces and nephews.

Julie attended Lake City Elementary School. She and her future husband Bill both attended Lincoln High School and became high school sweethearts. They were married at Lake City Presbyterian Church and were married for 66 years. They started their lives together in Lake City, and in the 1960's moved to the eastside of Lake Washington. They spent many enjoyable summers on the lake with their family and friends. Julie also enjoyed being a part of the Lake City "Lady Lions Club" and the "Children's Orthopedic Guild".

Julie worked for the AT&T telephone Company before she and Bill started a family. She was a homemaker when her children were young, and then went into the workforce as a volunteer at Lakeview Elementary in Kirkland. Julie later joined the Shoreline School District as an Attendance Secretary at Morgan Junior High and Shorewood High School making a lasting impression on so many young people before retiring after 20 years.

She enjoyed following the Seahawks, gardening, knitting hats and scarves, and occasionally visiting the local casino where she played the penny machines. Julie sold her hats and scarves at the Wandering Creek annual holiday bazaar. Julie and Bill lived at the Wandering Creek Adult Community for 17 years. Our Mom/grandmother and great-grandmother will be missed dearly by everyone in her family.
