Katherine Marie Foster BOYD June 25, 1913 ~ March 24, 2011 "Kay' or "Tootsie", as she was known by her many friends and family, passed away March 24, 2011 from natural causes at the Hearthstone Retirement Living Facility in Seattle, Washington. She was born to Nathan R. Foster and Mary Rowlands June 25, 1913 in Valier, MT. Katherine was raised in Seattle. She spent much of her adult life in Alaska visiting the natives in their village outposts. Much of her art work is devoted to these experiences. Tootsie was a lifetime member of the Alaska Yukon Pioneers of Seattle Club since 1978. She was also a contributor and supporter to the University of Alaska Fine Art Department and their Scholarship Program. Katherine was predeceased by her husband Richard "Bus" Boyd. She is survived by: Sister - Lucille M. Olson, Brother - Rowland N. Foster, Nephew Rick Olson and other Nephews and Nieces.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
