Kathleen Fenno Rogers Obituary
Kathleen Fenno Rogers

February 15, 1948 ~ June 10, 2013

Kathleen Fenno Rogers of Des Moines, WA passed away with her family by her side on Monday, June 10, 2013. A native of Alaska, Kathy was born in Anchorage to Betty and Dennis Fenno. Dennis flew Betty and three-day-old Kathy home to Dillingham and this began her life-long love of aviation. The family also lived in Fairbanks and Anchorage where Kathy graduated from West High School in 1966. She married Patrick Rogers in 1967 and had two children. She went on to get her pilot's license and work in the aviation field at Wien Airlines, Stoddard's Aviation, and Air Pac in Anchorage. She and the children later moved to the Seattle area where she worked for Hughes Aviation. She moved to Catania, Sicily in 1988 to work with her father. When she returned to WA, she worked in customer service management. Kathy had a real zest for life and freely shared her enthusiasm with others. She loved sports of all kinds, both as a fan and a participant. She was an avid Mariners fan and passed this passion onto her grandchildren. Kathy had an amazing green thumb and used her expertise to help others. She was a voracious reader and never had enough books to satisfy her appetite for a good story. Kathy delighted in spending time with her grandchildren more than anything else. During the last six months of her life, Kathy lived with her daughter's family while she battled cancer and impressed everyone with her courage.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Betty (Fenno) Magnuson and Dennis Fenno, son Shane Rogers, brothers Stuart Fenno and Eric Fenno. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Shawn Rogers, son-in-law Eric Johnson, granddaughter Lauren, grandson Max Kohler, siblings Sally Fenno, Betsy Fenno, Mike Fenno, Pat Magnuson, Rob Magnuson, Paulette Fenno Creal, and many other loving relatives.

A celebration of life will be held at Ravish Restaurant in Seattle, 2956 Eastlake Ave. E. on Friday, June 14, at 12:00 P.M.
