Lauralee Sally COX My wife Lauralee went home to her Lord on February 27, surrounded by family. Her passing was the end of a 7-year battle with brain cancer, which she fought with great courage and determination. She was born in Denver Colorado on 8-15-1944 but her family moved to Seattle when she was 4 months old and she remained a NW native thereafter. She graduated from Mercer Island High in 1962. and City University in 1990. Our children are daughter Leslie Johnson of Seattle, John Bruce (Yumiko) of Maui, David Cox of Aberdeen, WA, and Susana Peck (Jeff) of West Lebanon, NH. We were married in 1976 and have lived in our Bellevue, WA home since 1977. Lauralee was a great mom and the best of wives. She was a banker, CPA, finance director, frequent and enthusiastic volunteer for many organizations, rower, cyclist, yachtswoman, seamstress, cook, gardener, traveler, and was a Deacon and Stephen Minister at her church. She was surround by the love of her wonderful family and friends. She will be greatly missed. Services will be held at Mercer Island Presbyterian Church (3605 84th Ave. SE Mercer Island, WA) at 2PM on Wednesday March 9.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Dave, It's been many years since our one great adventure with you and Lauralee. We knew then what a wonderful wife and soul-mate she was for you. May the grace of God, and the soulful memory of your life and times with her, bring you some measure of peace to sustain you in this time of great pain, loss, and grief.

Lauralee was such a beautiful woman. I am blessed to have many happy memories of her when I was growing up...she took me with her so that I could volunteer at March of Dimes and I remember spending time at her home with Dave. I am lucky to have had her in my family. What a caring spirit and a wonderful laugh. I am sure she was welcomed on the other side with open arms.

I wish I had words to comfort and sustain you in your grief, but I know there are none that will take away any pain you are feeling now. My heart aches for you, David.

Dear Dave,
You and Lauralee were blessed with so many years of marriage together, and were such a blessing to each other. When you hear a soft whisper or waves gently lapping a shoreline, see a lovely sunset or smell a beautiful rose, I know you will be thinking of her in kind.
We pray that our Lord Jesus comforts you in this time of loss, and we lift and you and your pain of her passing up to his tender care.
