Leo Francis Trainer, 82, passed away on October 28, 2012 in Seattle, Washington.
Born in Hamilton, Kansas to Eugene and Anna (Bandura) Trainer on July 7, 1930. Leo grew up in Holden, WA and graduated from Wenatchee HS, WA in 1948. After graduating from Washington State University in 1953, Leo entered the US Air Force and was a pilot from 1953-1966. Leo joined Trans World Airlines in 1956 to 1990. He was a Captain based in Kansas City and New York International. In his flying career with TWA, he was a Training Center Instructor, Line Instructor and Check Airman. His last flight was from London to New York in 1990 as Captain of the Boeing 747. He was a member of Quiet Birdman, TARPA and TWA Seniors.
Leo is survived by his wife Marie (Fitzgerald O'Connor), three children: Christopher (Melissa), Siobhan Glass (Gil), and Dr. Andrew Trainer (Jane). He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Carolyn, William, and James (Trainer), Jeremy and Hannah (Glass) and Mary, John, Stephen, Julie and Paul (Trainer). He is also survived by his brother William Eugene Trainer, Malaga Washington and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother John and sisters Margaret Hartley and Mary Young.
Funeral services will be held in Wenatchee, Washington on Sat, November 17, 2012, 9am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
