Lois REUSS Obituary

Lois Elaine (Proelss) REUSS Lois passed away from complica tions due to Parkinson's Disease April 15, 2011 after 86 years of love and support to her family and com munity. Lois was born February 13, 1925 in Seattle and spent her youth there and in West Seattle. A West Seattle High graduate, she married fellow WSHS graduate Robert W. 'Bob' Reuss and shared a life together for over 60 years. They resided in West Seattle, Kenmore and in the Monroe- Sno homish area. Bob predeceased her by 7 years to the day. Lois is survived by her two daughters, Judy and Kim, sons-in-law Byron & Bill and grand children Christin and Donovan. Those who knew Lois know of her kindness, humor, generosity and wide ranging interests. For those who didn't, Lois was a musician, singer, master gardener, naval draftsman, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, church deacon, avid reader, sometime traveler, one-time dancer, a strong community sup porter and a wonderful friend who could be relied upon in any circum stance. Lois's main passion was music - be it playing the violin, singing in choirs, attending concerts or listening to re cordings. She started playing violin at an early age and continued per forming well into her 60's. She was a member of the Everett Symphony for many years and played in numer ous groups around the area. She loved to sing, was a past member of the Bothell United Methodist Choir (AKA The BUM Singers), the Ever ett Choral and the Monroe Congrega tional choir. She loved to participate in groups of any size, for public per formances, or just for fun. She shared this passion with her daugh ters and grandaughter. Active in the community, over the years she had been a secretary for the Seattle Inboard Racing Associa tion, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Philomels. Lois's humor, vibrancy and spirit will be sorely missed. Memorials may be sent to the Booth Gardner Parkinson's Center or the Monroe Congregational Church.

Lois was one of my first friends when I moved to Snohomish/Monroe. She got me involved with music in Monroe and as a member of the Everett Symphony. I recall playing in a trio with Lois that was for a wedding at the Seattle Space Needle. Her humor, love and graciousness as well as music talents will be sorely missed. I am so blessed to have had Lois in a very large part of my life. My thoughts are with Kim, Judy and their families.
