Lorene Alseth Obituary

Lorene Mildred ALSETH August 23, 1911 ~ February 6, 2011 A wife, loving mother, friend and nurse; she lived her life for others. She was born in Lynden, Washington and spent her life helping her family, neighbors, friends and patients. She graduated Swedish Hospital Nursing School in 1932 and continued working there for several years. Lorene worked at Burien General Hospital (Highline Medical Center) from the time it opened in 1958 until she retired in 1981. Lorene raised 5 children and helped raise some of her grandchildren. She loved working in her vegetable and flower gardens and attended church regularly at Glendale Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was loved very much and will be missed by those who knew her. Lorene was preceded in death by her three sisters, and is survived by her younger brother. Her children Harry Bjornson, Myrna, Steve, Greg and Tim Alseth, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will greatly miss her. Any donations in her name should be made to Wesley Homes in Des Moines or the Union Gospel Mission in Seattle.
