Lupe Boyd of Seattle, WA, passed away on September 4, 2018 at the age of 84, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 7, 1933 to Benjamin and Louisa Howard in Ukiah, California. She was the youngest of four siblings. She attended Lincoln High School in Seattle. Lupe's passion was raising her children and teaching them self-respect. She loved fashion and jazz; Billy Eckstine being one of her favorites. Purple was her favorite color.

In Seattle Lupe met and married her husband, John Boyd, of 56 years. Together, they raised five children in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle. John was in the Army and stationed at Fort Lawton in Washington State. He was also stationed at Fort Ord in Monterey, California and in Germany.

Lupe is survived by her children Anthony Boyd Ivery, Tina Boyd, Gina Boyd, John Boyd, Jr., her grandchildren Victor Handburgh, Jr. and Anthony Ivery, Jr. and great-grandchildren Nathan Handburgh and Zion Ivery. She is preceded in death by her husband John and her daughter Yvette L. Boyd.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 15th at 11:00 a.m., with a reception to follow, at Butterworth Funeral Home at 520 W. Raye St., in Seattle on Queen Anne hill. All are welcome. She will be privately inurned next to her beloved husband at Tahoma National Cemetery, at a later date.
