Madelyn Mann Obituary

Madelyn Mallberg MANN Madelyn Anne Mallberg MANN February 26, 1920 - April 29, 2011 passed away peacefully at the age of 91 surrounded by her family. She was born in Seattle, WA to Alfred and Florence (Nelson) Mallberg. Madelyn graduated from Broadway High School and the University of Washington. She married Vernon Mann in 1944 and they had four children. She was a long time member of the Seattle First Methodist Church and more recently attended Des Moines First Methodist Church. Madelyn had varied interests including church activities, girl scouts, gardening, reading, rock hunting, traveling, and family activities. Special occasions and memories were of family camping trips. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her sister Helen, and a grandson, Kevin. She is survived by her four children; Lawrence (Lucy) of Renton, Bruce (Jessica) of Los Angeles, Chile , Marilyn (David) Newport of Renton, Barbara (Gary) Hutchens of Wenatchee, eight grandchildren (Lawrence Jr., Patricia, Jonathan, Melissa, Sarah, Natasha, Kashmir, Damian), seven great grandchildren (Nathan, Kaitlynn, Chantel, Mercedes, Madelyn, Natalie, Mathew), four great grandchildren by marriage (Stehl, Danika, Trey, Sienna) two great great grandchildren (Xara, Cadence), and one great great grandchild by marriage (Tihanie). A memorial service will be held at Wesley Homes Terrace auditorium, 816 S 216th, Des Moines, WA on May 5th at 2:00 pm. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, you may send a donation to your favorite charity in her name.

I remember Madelyn and Vernon as friends of my parents, Margaret and Ed Royer, at First Church. Madelyn was always at Circle, at showers, and other events, sharing her joyful presence with her friends and their daughters. I know you have lost a very precious Mother.
