Margaret E. ALKIRE Margaret Elaine Alkire passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior peacefully March 7, 2003 at Franciscan Care in Tacoma. Born Margaret Elaine Alkire on December 14, 1923 in Santa Monica, CA., she was the daughter of Orwell LeRoy Montague and Evelyn Carrie (Wick) Montague. She grew up in Alhambra and Monterey Park, CA., where she first met the Alkire family. She was nineteen years old when she married Harry Alkire on June 12, 1942, in San Gabriel, CA. They had been married 61 years when Harry passed away on January 5, 2003. Margaret is survived by her sons, H. Daniel of Hacienda Heights, CA.; John Dale (Jean) of Roach, MO.; Bruce LeRoy (Pat) of Dunlap, IL.; and her daughters, Nancy Elaine Barber (Curt) of Renton, WA.; Sharon Rose Coleman (Doug) of Fircrest, WA.; and Rachel May Rodrigues (Joey) of Victor, MT.; her grandchildren, John Jr. (Ruth), Rebecca (Sean), Daniel (Sarah), Andrew (Katrina), Brett (Sarah), Alicia, Arica (Andrew), Adam, Drew, Joshua, Katy, David, Sarah, and Levi; and 11 great-grandchildren. Their Nana will be missed. Margie was very active in church ministries throughout her life. She was very active in King's Teens, Child Evangelism, Vacation Bible School, and Primary Sunday School. She was a faithful servant of God and an ardent prayer warrior, as well as a gifted bible teacher. Margaret was employed by Seattle Christian School for a few years in the 70's and later was Director of a day care center in Kent, WA. The Alkire family would like to thank all the wonderful people at Life Manor and Franciscan Health Care Center for the excellent care and love they gave our mother during her time there. Margaret's Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 25636 140th Ave. S.E., Kent, WA. A reception will immediately follow the service. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church or New Tribes Mission, 134 Main Drive, Roach, MO. 65787. Arrangements by Tuell-McKee Funeral Home, (253) 272-1414.
