Margaret Marie Murray Obituary
Margaret Marie Murray

Margaret Marie (Miller) Murray, 90, was taken home to God on June 9, 2018 surrounded by family. She was born January 24, 1928 of Leonard Leroy Miller and Violet Josephine (Bodine) Miller in Eugene, Oregon. She was preceded in death by Randy her husband of 62 years, her parents and four older brothers: Stanley, Malcolm, Dale, and Harold plus two older sisters Merrilee Miller and Josephine Roberts. Margaret is survived by two younger brothers: James (Barbara) Miller and John (Glenda) Miller and her sons: Alfred IV (Pam), Paul, Wayne (Adrienne) along with five grandkids and six great grandkids.

Margaret was the seventh of nine children born to Leonard and Violet Miller. She lived most of her childhood on the family dairy farm in Eugene and attended Mass at St. Mary Parish while living there. When Margaret was twelve years old the family moved to Seattle to open and run a furniture store and completed 8th grade at St. John's Parochial School in 1942. She graduated from Holy Names Academy in 1946.

She met Randy Murray in 1948 at a Blessed Sacrament Parish North End Social Club (NESCO) Dance in the U-District while attending classes at Seattle University and working at Seattle First National Bank. They were married May 6, 1950 at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Seattle. They honeymooned while visiting family in Chicago and Phoenix. Margaret, Randy and the children eventually settled in the North End of Seattle in 1955 when Randy began working, and eventually retiring, from The Boeing Company. Randy and Margaret moved to Anacortes in October of 2011 to be near family.

Margaret remained very faithful and active over the years in her Parish and with vintage car tours and was an avid garage sale shopper looking for fabric, collectibles, beads and costume jewelry to satisfy her need for her vast creativity and art. She will be missed by family, and the friends that she has made along her journey of faith.

Rosary will begin at 10:30 am on Thursday June 14th followed by Mass of Christian Burial at
