Margaret Andrews Obituary

Margaret Weaver Andrews

Margaret Weaver Andrews passed peacefully at her residence in Bellevue on September 11, 2014 at the age of 87.

Born August 19, 1927 in Palo Alto, California, Marnie spent her childhood years in Palo Alto, Spokane, and Los Angeles, California. Her mother passed when she was just 14 months old and her upbringing was the collective effort of a wonderful extended family that cared for and attended to the ongoing welfare of her and her brothers, Robert and Eldredge. Both of whom preceded her in death.

She attended the Bishop's School in La Jolla, California and then Scripps College in Los Angeles. Days that she described as some of the happiest in her life. She Married Peter Thorne Andrews in 1953 and the couple relocated to Seattle in 1960 where they raised their children and remained as true northwesterners for the rest of their lives. Marnie is survived by her three sons; Stephen, David (Leslie), and Robert, as well as five grandchildren; Elizabeth, Joseph, Kelsey, Megan and Katherine.

Mom was a truly devoted wife and mother. She was lucky enough to find the love of her life and spend fifty seven years with her best friend. She was active in the community through the Junior League. She had a wonderful career in the Seattle arts community as the Public Relations Director for the Seattle Repertory Theatre where she made many life-long friends. Marnie embodied all that it means to unconditionally love and support family. She will be both missed and recalled fondly by all who knew and loved her.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate her life at the Chapel at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Medina at 4:00 pm on Monday, September 29. Reception to follow at the Woodmark Hotel at Carillon Point. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Scripps College in memory of Margaret Weaver Andrews.
