Margaretta Smith BOUCHER Margaretta Smith Boucher passed away at home on April 4th. She was 93. Margaretta was born at home in Seattle on Capital Hill on May 6th, 1917 to J. She spent time in Kentucky and Warm Springs Georgia and returned home in her late teens. Boucher and had a daughter Barret. In 1968 Margaretta began work at Children's Hospital in the outpatient clinics. She loved working at Childrens and parents and patients both adored her. She took an early retirement when she was 79. After retirement she loved traveling, her latest adventure was Cabo for her adored grandson's wedding, playing mahjong, painting, being on the computer and reading. She always said as long as she had she had books and wine she would be happy. Margaretta had the unique ability to make everyone she met feel special and loved. I worked with Margaretta in the Outpatient Clinic at Children's in the 70's. Being a fellow polio survivor, we shared an understanding that created a special bond between us. Margaretta had a marvelous sense of humor and joy about her. At one point we were known as: "hop-a-long and catastrophe." Margaretta also hosted a baby shower for me when I had my oldest daughter. That daughter is now in New York, and my youngest daughter is in grad school and working at Children's !! My condolenses to Barret and family. I carry many fond memories of your mom in my heart.

My great aunt Muggie was one of the most genuinely loving people I've ever known. Literally almost every time I've seen her since birth, she's managed to say "I love you sweetie" or "love you dear" at some point within the visit or conversation. She had such a unique spirit that we all can learn from and try to live by. We will miss you so much Muggie.
Love, Annie

Aunt Margaretta was the life of every x-mas eve party. In her honor, I am going to try to wake up every morning saying "I am lucky" for at least the next two weeks. True, she did this for a lifetime, but I don't know that I have her spunk. She was a smart, funny person who will be very much missed. I regret that I never had the opportunity to have Aunt Margretta trounce me at Mahjong. Love,

Margretta loved to laugh and it was hard to not laugh when around her because she was always ready with a funny story or joke! I'll miss hearing her laugh and optomistic perspecitve on life!
