Marilyn Joan (Malone) BECKWITH Marilyn was born on April 8, 1932 to Matie Bernitta (Stevens) and John Cusack Malone in San Gabriel, California. In 1949 she graduated from St. Mary's High School in Medford, Oregon. She attended Holy Name Academy in San Mateo, from 1949 - 1951. From 1951 - 1960 Marilyn worked for United Airlines in the Flight Operations Dispatch Center in Seattle, Washington. She met and later married her husband, James C. Beckwith, on August 23, 1953. Together the raised four children: Roxanne Coatney of Chewelah, WA; Jim Beckwith, Jr. of Renton, WA; Michael Beckwith of Hoquiam, WA; and Karen (Mark) Foster of Federal Way, WA. In the mid-70's, Marilyn worked for National Iranian Radio and Television's International Division in Tehran, Iran as a news writer, editor, and broadcaster. Marilyn passed away on February 15, 2011 following complications from a stroke. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Beverly. She is survived by her husband, four children, four granddaughters, eight great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A Funeral Mass for Marilyn will be held today, Wednesday, February 23rd at 10:30 AM, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 30525 8th Ave. S., Federal Way, WA 98003. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marilyn's memory to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. I met Marilyn at mass on Wednesday night. Always so pleasant and shared a laugh and smile. I think of her often and miss her.
