Marilyn Nicholas Obituary

Marilyn Merle (Williams) NICHOLAS Marilyn Merle Williams Nicholas passed away peacefully on Friday, August 27, surrounded by family. She was born December 21, 1922 in Wood River, Nebraska to John Gilbert and Ruth Orton Williams. The family moved to Lincoln and later to Fruitland, Idaho, then on to the Woodinville area where she met and, in 1941, married Irving Nicholas. The couple lived in Woodinville until 1990 when they moved to Wandering Creek Senior Park in Bothell. Marilyn remained at Wandering Creek after Irving's death in 1999. Marilyn loved gatherings with family, participating in the life of the Woodinville Community United Methodist Church, travel, and socializing with friends. She is survived by her daughter, Margie Bonk (Terry) of Medical Lake, sons Gary (Lois) of Issaquah and Alan (Susan) of Bothell, and sister, Myrna Wing (Harold) of Oklahoma City. She has 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren along with a variety of grand-dogs. We all loved her dearly. The family thanks the staff of North Creek Assisted Living who provided skillful and compassionate care in her final days. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 18, at 1:00 p.m. at the Woodinville Community United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or your favorite charity.

Dear Nicholas Family,

It's always so sad to lose a loved one, and Marilyn is. In the many years I have known her, I guess the thing that stands out the most is that she was always such a "glass half full" type of person, always optimistic, gentle and understanding. She has left the world a better place. She'll be missed.
