Marjorie Ann Aaland

Marjorie Ann AALAND February 23, 1931 ~ August 17, 2009 Marjorie passed away at home with her husband of 59 years, G. Donald Aaland at her side. Her three daughters were nearby. Marjorie was a wonderful wife, Mother and loyal friend. She will be missed by her daughters, Linda Reid (Tom), Diane Videen, Carol Scofield and her beloved grandson Eric Aaland Scofield. Marjorie was born and raised in Seattle. Donald and Marjorie were high school sweethearts at Cleveland High School. Marjorie was actively involved in high school and made many lifelong friends there. Marjorie wasco-chair of PTA Dance committee for the most popular High School Dance in Seattle at the time where the Kings of Swing played. She was looking forward to her 60th high school reunion later this month. Marjorie worked for many years as a secretary in the special education dept. of the Highline School District. Donald and Marjorie were married on May 12th 1950. Donald's 59th anniversary card captures the love he and Marjorie shared. "Dear Marji, all my love, all my life, all for you. It's all very simple! I love you, Don." Her family, home and garden are filled with her love and care. Anyone fortunate enough to visit their home always left with a full stomach, a big smile, and a bouquet of freshly picked flowers from their garden. Sweet peas, roses, hydranges fill her garden today and remind us of her beauty and grace. The family is in deep gratitude to the timely and thoughtful care of the Pierce County Group Health Hospice. A celebration of her life will be held at High Cedars Golf Club, located at 14604 149th St. Ct. E., Orting, (off Hwy. 162 @ 149th) Sunday August 23, from 2-5pm.
