Meredith Anne Tyson Horne Obituary
Meredith Anne Tyson Horne

Mom passed away peacefully at home, August 1, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Douglas Edwin Sutherland Horne; three daughters, Kym Horne, Gigi Johnston (Bryan) and Cydney (Reg) Clowdsley; grandchildren Jeremy Johnston (KC), Ashley Johnston and Sarah Suhadolnik; great grandchildren, Maya, Isis and Lachlan Johnston. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Ardith Horne of Virginia, and a sister, Sandra Gibbons and two nephews, Charles and John (Lisa) Helbling and family, all of North Carolina, and extended family in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mom was a beautiful, southern lady of grace with a strong faith and a warm smile and hug for everyone. She was the proud and patriotic wife of an Army colonel. Together they traveled extensively making friends all over the world. She was a loving wife and gentle mother who never spoke ill of anyone. Mom was also an accomplished artist with an extensive collection of amazing work we all have hanging in our homes. Her friends all received her special hand drawn Christmas cards every year.

We miss you so Mom. You took much of the light out of our lives

with your passing but the blessing

is you are suffering no more.

We will always cling to what you wrote in your journal:

"In the whenever I will be perched on a moonbeam

With God in my pocket

Seeing and loving you all."

At Mom's request, there were no services, instead a small gathering of immediate family.

Any donations in her name may be made to the ALS Foundation.
