Norris Roswell COUNTRYMAN Norris Countryman died peacefully at his home on Bainbridge Island March 13th. He was 85. He was born in Seattle. WA. He lived in Yakima during his early years and graduated from Selah High School. He was a tail gunner in the USAAF during World War II and a veteran of the Korean Conflict.He held several positions during his lifetime. He managed 16 service stations for Binger Oil Co. in the 50's and 60's, drove truck for Matthew's Candy Co., owned and operated North City Texaco, and was a driver salesman for Ed Hume Seed Co. He had been a member of the Eagles, Elks, and a member of the American Legion at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sonja; children, Norma Lewis, Norris II, Royce, and Steve Countryman, Kimberly White, Susan Fore, Dorothy Buck, Katie Countryman; and step-children, Milton Rants, Mona Floyd, John Poelzer, Lorie Britton, Michael and Joseph Poelzer; 26 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Recitation of the Rosary will be Sunday, March 20th, at 3:00 PM and Memorial Service Monday, March 21st, at 11:00 AM, BOTH at Hoffner Fisher & Harvey Chapel 508 N 36th Seattle WA. Interment at Holyrood Cemetery followed by a reception at Ballinger Lake Golf Course.
