Patricia FARROW Obituary

Patricia FARROW Patricia passed from this life into the hands of God on February 12, 2011. Born Patricia Ann Smith on August 9, 1937 in Muskegon, Michigan, and known at thetime of her death as 'Mom,' 'Gramma,' 'Patti,' and half of 'Patti and Bill' or 'Mom and Dad.' Loved by all. She moved to Seattle at the age of 16, and graduated from Holy Names Academy. Patti married Patrick Bowling in 1956, and raised six beautiful and loving children, giving of herself in every way. Patti's special family camping trips are treasured memories. She impacted the lives of many people, volunteering and coaching, at school and church, and cooking for the homeless at St. Martin de Porres shelter. Patti fed hungry tummies all her life with her wonderful cooking and baking, and fed their souls with her ready smile, laughter and generous spirit. She gardened avidly, and generously shared her produce, canning and wonderful jam. She married Bill Farrow in 1982, and welcomed his five children into their family as her own. Bill and Patti were a truly loving couple, devoted to each other, and equally devoted to their Catholic faith. They traveled the country together in their camper, then trailer, then motor home, and they lovingly opened their home to their family - children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Intrepid travelers, they made several trips to Thailand and to France, and loved experiencing and learning about the world and its people. They touched the lives of many people the world over, who remember them still. Patti was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbee; her loving father, John; and 'Mom', Mary Towne Smith; her brother, Dave; her Grandmother, Agnes; Aunt Edith and Uncle Crow, who all loved her very much and are welcoming her to heaven. Patti is survived, remembered and loved by her husband, Bill; her brothers, Dan and John; sisters, Susie, Julie and Janie; and by Bill's and her children, Kathleen (Jacky), Teri, John (Judit), Donna (Jerry), Marianne, Pat (Annette), Cathy (Richard), Jeanne (Gloria), John (Nancy) and Dan (Kris); grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, February 17th, at 11 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Church, 121 N. 80th Street, Seattle. Bill and family,
We were unable to come to the service for Patti but wanted to express our sorrow at your loss. We will always remember how positive a person Patti was and what an inspiration she was to others! She gave so much of herself to others and now that she is with the Lord, I am sure he is saying, "Well done my faithful servant." May the wonderful memories of Patti sustain you now.
Love, Alan and Anne Cline

Dear Bill & Family,

I was so very fortunate as a young man to spend a great amount of time with Patti and the Bowling "tribe." Memories of the camping trips and family dinners replete with fabulous food, laughter and a very special warmth - that was Patti's special gift.
Love and warmest wishes to the entire family. I know Patti is with her savior and she touched so many of us in a special way, changing us forever and making us (if only in a tiny way) more God-like.

Love, Chris & Rita Mohn & Family

I loved my grandma very much and will miss her deeply. She taught me so much about everything and has really molded me into the woman that I have become. She was such a wonder asset to me and my children and I will treasure the time that I had with her.

I love you Grandma!
