Paul Bixler Simonton, Jr.

June 8, 1921 ~ August 17, 2012

Paul Simonton Passed away peacefully on August 17, 2012. Raised in Great Falls, MT, Paul attended Montana State University, served in the Navy during WW II and had a successful, 37 year career as an Engineer with the Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company.

In 1942, Paul married his college sweetheart, Mary Jane LaCross. Together they devoted their earlier years to raising their four children. He was a wonderful, loving husband and father, a devout Christian and an active member of the Lake Forest Park Presbyterian Church where he served terms as both a Deacon and an Elder. Paul was an active sportsman throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing, swimming and golfing and bowling. Paul and Mary contributed generously to many charitable organizations and efforts. They prepared and delivered food to Operation Night Watch, contributed to the Salvation Army, World Vision, the Red Cross and to their church.

Paul was preceded in death by Mary, his loving wife of 67 years, his sister, Marjorie and his parents. He is survived by his four children: Jane Huffman (Wes), Paul Simonton (Anne), John Simonton, and Ann Millner (Larry); 7 grandchildren: Joe Huffman (Krista), Matthew Huffman (Susan), Andy Huffman (Suzanne), Jeff Simonton, Dan Simonton (Trisha), Marjorie McDaniel (Dave) and Greg Grover (Mandy); 11 great grandchildren.

Our family extends grateful thanks and appreciation to the entire staff at egis of Lynnwood for their competent and caring attention to our dad's personal and medical needs during his 2 year stay there. We also appreciate Swedish Hospital in Edmonds for the comfort and care they provided during his recent illness.

Memorial service and reception will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Lake Forest Park Presbyterian Church.
