Paul Gengler Obituary

Paul Gengler

Paul died in Seattle on July 9,

2016 at 3:00 a.m. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he remarked not long ago, "I've had a good run". The cause of death was throat cancer. He graduated from Wauwatosa High School, Wauwatosa, WI in 1950 and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1954 with a BBA degree. Because Paul was in R.O.T.C. at Wisconsin, following graduation he served in the Army as a Signal Corps officer until 1956. Genie Carroll became his wife a week after graduation, beginning a 62-year union. Paul's posting at Fort Huachuca in Arizona sparked his interest in the desert southwest and eventually led to 20 years of retirement in nearby Tucson. Retirement also included spending summers in Seattle near their daughter Sarah and her family. Paul's 34-year business career was with the W. H. Brady Co. (now Brady Corp.) in Milwaukee, WI where he began as credit manager and retired as CEO in 1993.

Paul is survived by his wife Genie (Eugenia); sons Paul, William (Sandra), daughter Sarah (Matt Dahl); grandchildren: Daniel (Elizabeth), Laura Gengler Neitge (Robert), Seryozha Dahl, Ruslan Dahl. His steady presence, warm heart and wry humor will be very much missed. A celebration of life is planned for the fall in Tucson. The family requests donations to The Nature Conservancy in lieu of flowers. Address: The Nature Conservancy, 4245 North Fairfax Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203-1606, or your local state Nature Conservancy chapter.

So sorry for your loss. I remember the good times we shared. Pat has passed away so recently and now Paul that it seems like such a big void.

Sincerely,
Ginny

I'm so sorry your loss. May the words at Isaiah 35:5,6 give you comfort and hope.

I worked for Paul on a number of occasions at the Brady group. He was always straightforward and honest with me. If I was doing something wrong he would tell me and also tell me when I was doing well. I have thought of him often since my departure at Brady in 1978.. I will miss him.

Worked at Brady for 26 years. Mr. Gengler was a very considerate person. Enjoyed talking to him.
