To all of you that have found the time to make entries here on Polly's behalf. Firstly all is forgiven for the use of Po and Po-po. I know Judy and I have both delighted in seeing the kind comments from names of many years past. In mother's last few years she had so many kind memories of so many people that have been gracious to her. She never thought of herself as deserving of all the people that were so loving towards her. That was always so much of mother not recognizing her contribution to everyone else. Kind wishes to all and hope to see you at the celebration this weekend. Paul

Dear Judy and PoPo, This message is from the four Smethurst children, Dede, Sally, Jimmy, and Ann. We are sorry to learn of your mother's death. Polly was a delightful and kind person, with a gentle, caring spirit. She gave us popsicles on hot summer days. I loved climbing the willow tree in your front yard, and playing with that huge electric train in your basement. Polly was a loving friend to us all. I know she will be deeply missed. Love to you all, Sally

Dear Judy and Howard,
I am so glad I got to know your mom.
We sure did a lot of washing dishes and putting them in the dishwasher.
Give my love also to Noelle and Brook.

Judy and Po--sorry to hear about your mother but what a wonderfully long life she had. I am now 72 and first met Polly when I returned to Walla Walla in the early '40s. My family lived on Otis Street, we played a lot on the property between you and Smethursts. My grandmother and your gmo Helen were great friends. I spent a great few days at the house on Lake Whatcom when I was in High School. The picture of your mother is almost as I remember her. She and my aunt, Anne, were Kappa sorority sisters at Whitman.
My best to you both,
Donna Douglass d/o Jean Eubanks Blake grdau Lillian Eubanks, niece Richard/Ann Eubanks
