Phyllis VOLKSTORF Phyllis Jane Volkstorf nee Atwater, passed away peacefully in her sleep, May 27, 2011, aged 93 years. Born in Portland, Oregon, on May 24, 1918, she spent most of her adult life in Washington. An avid golfer, she was a long time member of Overlake Golf and Country Club. She was predeceased by her husband, United Airlines Capt. Edward Volkstorf in 1973. Phyllis is survived by her two children, Susan Prescott and Erich Volkstorf, a sister, Jessie Rae Amsberry of Spokane, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. No memorial services are planned. Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

As I read the notice, it brought back so many childhood memories of our family times together. Doesn't seem that long ago. Your mom was a very special lady. Sue, I hope you and Erich are both doing well, and I would love to see you.
