Richard Bowen Obituary

Richard BOWEN Richard Bowen, born in Seattle5-7-24 died in Kent 5-31-11, surrounded by his family and dog Rocco.He attended West Seattle schools. Richard enjoyed a forty year career as a NP-BNSF employee. Married 64 years to Barbara (The girl next door), he enjoyed golf, travel, snowbirding in Arizona and woodworking. He built their homes in Tukwila and Kent and constructed much of his own furniture. He served on the Tukwila city council. Richard was a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather. Survivors include his loving wife Barbara, son Scott (Tina), daughter Janet "JR" Parnell-Smith (Frank), granddaughter Olivia Bowen (Michael Doran), brother, sister, nephews, nieces and cousins. Burial at Hillcrest Cemetery in Kent will precede a Memorial service on Saturday June 4th 11:00 a.m. at Kent United Methodist Church 11010 SE 248th St., Kent. Family suggests donations to: Group Health Community Hospice Fund, Dept. 4194, PO Box 34936, Seattle, 98124. *Please indicate "Hospice Program" on the memo line of check.
