Richard J. Taylor Sr. Obituary
Richard J. Taylor, Sr.

Dick began life's journey on December 4, 1943 and concluded on October 20, 2012. The first born of James E. and Mabel E. (Hansen), Dick was raised in Southern California and graduated from Anahiem High School in 1961. He was the proud father of Rick and Penny. After his retirement, Dick moved to Seattle to be closer to his sister. The northwest was instantly his new home. He loved being outdoors and was happiest when he was in someone's yard trimming, clearing, fertilizing, and generally being useful. When not working outside, he volunteered at Swedish Medical Center Ballard. He had a laugh that would fill a room, and he had a way like no other enjoying and celebrating the simplest things in life. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim. He is survived by his mother Mabel of Temecula, CA: his son Rick of Riverside, CA; his daughter, Penny and 4 incredible grandchildren, Danie, Toniann, the twins Michelle and Christopher and his beloved great-granddaughter, Makayla of Murrieta, CA.; and his sister Sandy and brother-in-law Cliff of Brier, WA. Special thanks to his doctors William Woo, MD, Danh Ngo, MD and Jeffrey Westcott, MD. Special thanks also to Scribner Kidney Center and the nurses in the ICU and Progressive Care units at Swedish Medical Center/Cherry Hill Campus for taking such great care of Dick.Though his last few years were difficult at times, he never gave up the fight. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of his life will be held later. And yes, Dick you got the last laugh. How do you top dying?
