Robert Hans Dines Obituary
Robert Hans Dines

Bob was born in Seattle, March 25, 1928 to Charles William and Millie Madsen Dines. He died at Swedish Edmonds Medical Center on February 7, 2014.

He grew up on Capitol Hill in Seattle as a "Depression Baby" and then following graduation from Broadway High School, served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific at the end of WWII. Upon returning home, he entered and graduated from the University of Washington taking advantage of the G.I. Bill program. It was at the UW that Bob met Geraldine Reswick. They fell in love, married, and loved life together for 56 years until Geri's death in 2009.

Bob's working environment was the marketing arena. He enjoyed many years in the advertising/sales promotion world, dedicated to helping several of Detroit's "Big 3" automakers merchandise and market their products. He retired in 1993 after 20 years in Detroit to return to Seattle and the Pacific Northwest with Geri, this to explore life for the two of them as offered-up by the Golden Years.

Survivors are daughters Polly J. Dines and Tracy D. Howes, son-in-law Scott L. Howes, granddaughter Hannah G. Howes, brother Ralph L. Dines, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in both the Puget Sound area and in California.

At his request, there will be no service. Memorials may be directed to Seattle Children's Hospital.

Our Bubba was a sweet man, a lifelong friend to many, a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed people and knew how to connect with them, even if it was only briefly. He was quirky in an endearing way and that's what we loved about him. We will miss him and think of him every day.
