Robert Morse Paine Obituary
Robert Morse Paine

Dr. Robert Morse Paine passed away on December 11, 2012. Bob was born in Arlington, Massachusetts on December 28, 1921. A graduate of Bowdoin College, he attended the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, interned at Evanston Hospital, and trained as a resident at Johns Hopkins before specializing in internal medicine and cardiology at the Virginia Mason Clinic.

Bob lived for two months and three days following the death of Mary Ruth, his wife of nearly 65 years. Bob leaves his sister, Barbara Mason, daughters Julie and husband Scott, Anne and husband Jeff, Mary and husband Eric, and his grandchildren, Kyle and wife Amy, Tyler, Jack, and Chloe. Bob and Mary Ruth's son, Robert, predeceased them.

Bob loved to travel the world with Mary Ruth. He taught his children to ski and backpack. He was a School Board president and a Boy Scout patrol leader who led his son's hikes. His life-long hobby as an amateur radio operator, W7RX, began when his father gave him a short-wave radio. Bob enjoyed gardening, travel, hiking, downhill skiing, home computing, and his church. He was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, and physician, always attentive and caring.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held January 25, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Bayview Retirement Community, 11 West Aloha St., Seattle, WA, 98119.
