We met Bob in 1966 when we moved to Marin from New York City with our two young children. Bob introduced us to the home in Mill Valley that we've lived in and loved ever since. Immediately, we were invited to the beautiful Belvedere Victorian and met Ted - and the friendship lasted all these years. We loved visiting Bob and Ted in Marin and Lopez Island and Honolulu. We will never forget the New Year's parties at the Belvedere house.
Bob and Ted were very important in our lives all these years, and we have missed Ted and will miss and always remember Bob.

I will always remember you.The things I learned ,saw and all the people I met because of you. Summers in Seattle will never be the same. But now you know your answer to "where did we come from, why are we here, where do we go?"

Bob was important to so many people, especially the ones who are now celebrating a life well lived. We met him only twice and were impressed both times by his open, sharing style.

I met Bob on November 19th 1996 in Hawaii. I had never dreamed of falling in love with somebody like him. What a wicked world that now you left me with emptiness. No more communications, or our phone chats. You taught me a thing or two. You taught me right from wrong. You taught me to be more than I can be. You built my confidence and restored my self esteem. You taught me to recognize my level of achievements, which I didn't. You taught me how to discover my potential, which I knew little about. You lifted me and gave me hope from the first day we met. You were responsible for making me stay in the U,S. till now.
I froze and stared at you for a while every time you smiled. You were what you were: kind, loving, and just amazing. Our relationship was on a good foundation and nobody could destroy that. You never did anything which would let me think you would not be there when I turned to you. Seems like yesterday we did so many things together. I would hold you in my arm and take your pain away. There's nothing I would not do to hear you and see you again. Sometimes I feel like to pick up the phone to call you but I know you would not be there. It is hard for me to hide my feelings because I MISS YOU. Sometime I just want one more chance to look into your eyes and you would look back. So that I could tell you how much I miss you. It was so hard to say goodbye the day we parted. I am glad that I got to spend one week with you during your last days with us. I got that closure I was hoping for. You have been and will be at the special corner of my heart. Rest in peace my mentor, idol and best friend.
Bob, I love you, I DO

Tom and Claire Conway are sorry for the loss of a remarkable gentleman. Tom and Bob had a history dating back to their shared street in East Moreland, Portland, Oregon nearly 80 years ago. All the intervening years they remained friends.
Whether it was an annual dinner at Bob's Seattle home or memorable visits to his and Ted (Rosenberg)'s homes on Lopez or Honolulu, we knew the gracious host would guarantee a wonderful time.
Despite illnesses over the years, Bob roared back with enthusiasm and optimism. He will indeed be missed.
