I've lost a wonderful friend and we've all lost a ferocious, fearless and courageous warrior for justice. He was very happy and loved his family very much. Running around the track with him, in the sun and rain and wind, backpacking and hiking in the cascades, oblivious to the pain as he delivered a fascinating and mesmerizing stream of stories about battling the bad guys.
He was always friendly, funny and good natured, except the one time I said something critical of a police officer in the news. Then, I saw why you would not want to ever deal with Bob in a professional capacity ! He was the greatest defender of police depatments one could possiblty imagine. He had a heart of gold, I felt comfortable and happy whenever I was around him, and the hours would just vanish. Bob had an unwavering faith in God. If anybody makes it to heaven, he did, and I do hope and expect to see him there when my time comes. Having Bob as a friend greatly enriched and brought joy to my life. I'm grateful for his being my friend. I'm so sad he's gone.
