Russell R. TIEDEMANN July 2, 1956 ~ March 4, 2011 Russ read the obituaries every day of his adult life. It is with great sadness that hs own obituary has come too soon. Russell was a native Seattleite, son of Margaret and Ed Tiedemann. Russ graduated from Blanchet High School in 1974. He was a ten-year employee of Sam's Club. He loved life, travel, family, friends and his dog Max. Russ is survived by his three children, Todd, Amy and Holly, grandchildren, Keenan, Kameron and Kylie, and his eternal love, Terri Meier. Russ was a kind man and enjoyed the simple things in life. He would not want us to mourn his passing but celebrate his life at Van's 105 Tavern, Seattle, Sunday, March 13th at 2:00 p.m.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Russell was a first cousin of mine. His father (my Uncle Ed) was one of my dad's older brothers. My dad was Herb Tiedemann and they were all originally from Neptune, NJ. (There were 5 boys and one girl in the family.)
Russell was one of my absolutely favorite cousins. He was born the same year that I was (1956) and also our cousin Teri, and cousin Garry (both from Neptune.)
When my husband attended grad school in Seattle in 1983, I had the chance to reconnect with Uncle Ed and Aunt Margaret, We saw Russell a few times, as well. I remember that he was always fun to be with and wished that all of the cousins would have had more time to get to know each other.

Todd, Amy & Holly,
Although I have never met you, I have known your dad for many years. I was working at Kolstrand when your dad started there and we worked together until the company split and he stayed with Kolstrand and I was with the spin off company called MDI. In the later years we shop at least weekly at Sam's so we often chatted there over the years.
I don't know if you ever saw your dad in any of his Halloween costumes but they were great. The incredible shrink wrap man and the shred man, he put a bunch of tape with the sticky side out and then covered himself with paper shred. Very funny, very clever. I actually think I still have pictures somewhere.
Visits to Sam's won't be the same. I will miss him. God's blessing to you at this time of separation.
