Ruth M. WARTELLE Born August 24, 1922 in Seattle, Ruth died peacefully April 30, 2012 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Ed of nearly 70 years; her children, Ed (Edie), Mike (Colleen), Judy Zugish, Tom, Sue Partington (Matt), JD (Robin), and Jeff; 10 grandchildren, Kevin (Jeannette), Dean (Susan), Lynn, Douglas (Kathleen), Keith (Alicia), Justin (Gwen), Keli Anne (Michael), Daniel (Alashia), Joshua (Donna Lee), and Orielle; and 18 great-grandchildren, Kelsi, Tyler, Edie, Lucas, Connor, Jane, Joseph, Theresa, William, Eden, JJ, Andrew, Haley, Laiken, Samantha, Lucy, Lillian, and Kellen. Ruth lived her almost 90 years to the fullest and developed lifelong friendships along the way, many of whom were longtime members of Assumption Parish & Grade School, where over the years she was involved with all things athletic, academic, and social. She served as the first President of the Assumption Parents Club and also as a member of the church's first Parish Council. She enjoyed summers with her family at Camano Island and many years boating to the San Juan Islands and beyond. She also travelled extensively with her husband, Ed, throughout the US and destinations as far away as New Zealand and Australia. Always the competitor to the end, she played her final game of duplicate bridge last Wednesday and we trust she already has her next game scheduled in Heaven. The family would also like to say a special thank you to Dan, Laurean, and Connie for their kindness and generosity to Mom in recent years. Recitation of the Rosary will be held Wednesday, May 2nd, at 7:00 p.m., at Hoffner Fisher & Harvey Chapel 508 N 36th St., Seattle WA 98103. The Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, May 3rd, at 10 AM, at Assumption Parish, 6201 33rd Ave. NE, Seattle WA 98115. Sign Ruth's on-line Guest Book at www.Legacy.com.
