Sandra Hertz Obituary

Sandra Lee Hertz

On September 21, 2018, Sandra Lee Hertz passed away after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband David, their son and daughter and their spouses, her brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

David and Sandy met while figure skating, competitively and in ice shows, in the 1950's. Together, and with their family, they hiked, skied and boated in the Pacific Northwest for 58 years.

Educated in Home Economics, Sandy wrote for Prudence Penny, the advice columnist in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. After raising her children, she re-educated herself to become a teacher of Special Education at Echo Lake Elementary where she worked for over 20 years.

Sandy was an active member of Lake Forest Park Presbyterian Church where she knitted hats and sewed quilts for other cancer patients. She was always known for giving more than was needed.

After retiring, David and Sandy travelled the world, visiting over 70 countries on nearly every continent. On September 21, 2018 she departed for one last, great adventure.

She will be desperately missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Services will be held at

Lake Forest Park Presbyterian Church on October 27th at 10am.
