Sarah Hughes Obituary

Sarah Mary HUGHES On May 31, 2010 the world lost a beautiful, vibrant, special, nine year old girl when Sarah Mary Hughes passed away. Sarah's infectious giggle and sparkling smile will be missed by many, especially her parents Heather and Jim Hughes, her sister Annie, brother Peter, grandparents Anne and Ron Ochsner, Mary Ellen and Pat Hughes, six aunts, five uncles and eleven cousins. Sarah had a genuine passionfor life, including all thingspink, music, singing, dancing, animals, friends, swimming and skiing. She played soccer for the joy of being part of a team and loved school for the friendships she had with her classmates and teachers. Sarah couldn't resist a snuggle with a baby or a sneak of something sweet. With her bright eyes and adorable dimples, Sarah was yummy. Her favorite places were San Juan Island where she loved boating and crabbing and Colorado where she skied with grace and abandon. Give Sarah a roaring fire, fuzzy socks, a cuddly blanket, and she was a happy girl. Sarah's strength, courage and positive attitude were an inspiration for many, including those who had never met her. Sarah, we are lucky just to linger in your light. A celebration of Sarah's life will be held at 4pm, Friday, June 4, 2010 at St. Joseph Church, 732 18th Avenue E., Seattle, WA 98112. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made in honor of Sarah to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Fund, P.O. Box 9784, Seattle, WA 98109.
