Shirley Carson Obituary

Shirley Beach CARSON Shirley passed peacefully January 14, 2011, in Federal Way, WA at the age of 88. She was born in Glasgow, MT on April 23, 1922. In 1942, she married her high school sweetheart Jack H Beach. To this loving union, four children were born. Jack passed away in 1981. She was married to Kenneth (Corky) Carson in 1983 until his passing in 2007. Shirley was a fun- loving woman who above all, cher ished her family, friends and the Catholic Church. She enjoyed many years on Hood Canal, where she and Jack built their summer home. Crabbing, shrimping and salmon fishing were favorite past times. She was active in several bowling leagues during her younger years in the South Seattle area. She loved playing cards, slots, dancing at the VFW and when she had a few quiet moments, read books and worked needlepoint while cheering on the Su personics. Visiting Shirley was a welcoming experience. You never went home hungry or thirsty. She was preceeded in death by her hus bands and son Lee (Mick) Beach. Shirley is survived by her children Karen Beach, Jack C. (Joe) Beach and his wife Sandie, Mary Jo Landdeck and her husband George; 4 grandsons, 3 great-granddaugh ters, sister-in-law Marilyn Peters and neices and nephews. Rosary will be 6:00 pm Wednesday, Jan 19 at Greenwood Memorial Park. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 20 at St Paul's Catholic Church, Seattle with a reception fol lowing the service.

Shirley was another mother to Leo and me. Our families has so many memories of summers together camping or watching Hydro races. I believe that Catherine was the first one there to greet her as she entered heaven, and now they can start a new garden together.
