Steve, I am sorry we never met. I tried to call you several times just to say hi and see how we were related. That was in the mid-1970s while I was stationed in the Army at Fort Lewis WA. Sadly, you were never at home when I called. Thank you for your service to our nation. RIP.

Steve, we'll miss you! The games were fun but the fellowship after the games was the best. You loved the games, whether our team was playing or not. A good teammate, a good friend, always a smile, always a joy to be around.

Stever, Thanks for being the best brother-in-law a girl could have. It seems like yesterday when I had to leave your wedding to take my two year old niece Cassie Jean out because she was talking too much. It's been almost 50 years. We've been through a lot together. After Bill died, you were always there for Brock and I. I am not sure I thanked you enough for being such a Great Uncle. So I am glad I was able to help you through your illness. (Of course, you would never let me help-moving things-straightening your hospital tray-YOU HAD TO DO IT YOURSELF-IT HAD TO BE JUST SO).
THANKS FOR ALL THE SPECIAL MEMORIES. Thanks for marrying my sister, having two wonderful children and now two unbelievable grandkids. I love you and will miss you. Susie

Hey putz I know that you are up there right now with Mike and Dad drinking beer. It better be olympia, because you know first off what will happen if its not. Thank you for everything that you have done for my mom and I. weather it was taking me to my games when I was in town or to mairiners games in the king dome and then at safe co . Also going to watch uw girls softball games, which I think was your favorite to watch.. To many fun times . One of my favorites is when you, Ron and I took off on our motorcycles and went all over seattle. I didn't think that you could keep up with us on that big harley of yours, but you did. I will always remember that day. Mom told me awhile back when I was in the hospital that you would come up every day to see me . I never got to tell you thank you . I love you uncle and I will never forget you

Hey putz I know that you are up there right now with Mike and Dad drinking beer. It better be Olympia, because you know first off that dad will not allow any other . Thank you for everything that you have done for my Mom and I. Taking me to whatever sport that I was playing at the time, sticking around and watching me play, and putting up with me staying with you all those times. Something that i just found out from Mom was that you came up to see me every day when I was in the hospital, thank you I never got to tell you that. I will never forget the time that you, me and Ron took off on our motorcycles and went all over Seattle. I didn't think that you could keep up with us on that big harley of yours, but you did. that day was a blast! I love you uncle and I will never forget you.

Steve and I met in 1967 competing for a spot in the outfield for Folk's Barber College Softball club. To this day, I still call him a great friend of mine and all of the other players on that team. I'll miss playing golf with and talking about all of our great times we had together playing with that great group of guys for all of those years. Even though I havn't lived in Seattle for many years, we still kept in touch. With a heavy heart,I want say Good by to a great guy. Bless Ronnie, Lisa, Sandy & Susie.

Steve's obit was published in the Yakima Herald Wed 4/8/11. And yes, Steve was a great friend. It was old home week when Steve would come to play in Yakima fastpitch softball tournaments. I saw him occasionally after softball when he would come to visit his Mom who lived in our Terrace Heights neighborhood. Steve's obit is now posted at fastpitchwest.com to reach his softball buddies. To the family - You are lucky, Steve was one of the great ones.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Steve, he is missed by many. Steve was an amazing friend to my family and my fondest memory would be when he and my mother drove my friend and I to summer camp in Whidbey Island in his black sports car. He didn’t hesitant once to drive fast for us kids but mom sure wasn’t happy about that. Steve was very fond of sports and would even go to my softball games when I lived in Yakima and Seattle. Even though I haven’t seen Steve in years, he has and will continue to be a part of my family. Rest in Peace!!!

Hey beer we are going to miss you a lot! Don't forget to save me a spot in the line up.
Lots of love from Jose Vidal and family
