I am so very sorry for Susan's loving family, friends and community -- she will be terribly missed by so many. Back in the '80's, we met through her volunteer work with a banking trade organization and became friends. Susan was a very special person -- I was lucky to know her.

I only just heard that Susan was ill, and am so sad to hear of her passing. I remember Sue well during her time at PCBS. Later, as a friend of Mike's, knew of their life and lovely children. My heart and prayers go to Mike and his children, and to the entire family for their tremendous loss. Heartfelt sympathy, Lydia Philpott

We were so saddened to hear of Susan's death. Although we only had a occasion to visit a few times since joining the Canyon Shores community, it was obvious that Susan was the heart of the complex. She will be sorely missed.

After reading the beautiful tribute to Susan in today's Columbian, I was once again reminded of her beauty and courage and we will very much miss her. I was also reminded of her strength and perseverance. Susan always chose to continue marching, even in the face of adversity. I believe strongly that she would want us to continue with our support of The Boys & Girls Club.

With love,

My heart goes out to Jack, Rachel, and Mike. It didn't matter if we were volunteering together at the school or watching our boys play water polo. I always enjoyed Susan's good company. I will miss her and so will the community.

Susan was such a bright, loving, caring, generous individual. If she had lived to be 100, we would have felt that she was taken too soon. It is so much harder to lose her so early. We can only take solace in having had the opportunity to know her as a friend and neighbor. Our thoughts are with the family that she loved so much.

We met as volunteers in Mrs. DeKraii's first-grade classroom, planning a Halloween party for the children in 1999. I was happy and proud to work with Susan in PTA and CTA over the years as we watched our sons become friends and grow to young manhood. She was simply amazing in everything she did, and touch countless lives with her grace, kindness and generosity. I'm so very sad for her family. I, along with many others, will miss her very much.
